Belated Christmas Gifts

Parker and Jeremy teamed up to give me some wall racks for all of the fabric in the studio. This was their x-mas gift and it was installed this weekend. I can't quite put to words how excited I am about this. I have been battling landslides of fabric that come tumbling down and falling over with every attempt to get a bolt from the piles that have been precariously perched against the wall. And, didn't I always need the one in the back of the pile!?!
But now, I have an amazing wall of linear color and texture. I love it. It's a huge step towards making a studio that works for my everyday needs. My daytime hours (while Parker is at school) are intense sewing times. On a good day I sew 20 bags...on a mediocre day I sew 10. It gets rather crazy in here during the week. So, organization is crucial.  Organization, however, had been kidnapped by busyness...but, it's slowly returning. We'll be doing a few more building projects (custom shelves and such), I'll post the details as they develop.
Now, it's almost midnight and I'm going to turn into a pumpkin. I've been sewing non-stop for the last 7 days (and will be for 2 more days). I'm preparing for a short trip Tuesday through Thursday of this week, so I need to get ahead on orders. Once I return, you'll see some new bags and, I'm rambling (and so exhausted).

p.s. In my tired typing, I tried to switch the 'y' to 'i' and add (n)es(s) while typing busy-ness...but that spells business. So, business (how I tried to spell busy-ness) is usual.
If that makes sense to you, you deserve a shiny gold medal.

  1. Looks fabulous. I am sure you are going to enjoy just rolling the fabric off instead of digging through a pyramid of fabric rolls and risk it all coming tumbling down on you. Great one.

  2. Hello - just wanted to say that I received my Hip Pouch and love it.

    I blogged about it here:

And took photos of it here:
