The Letter Bag

Hello! We arrived home from Pittsburgh on Monday and went right back to production for Moop. Things will be busy for the next few weeks leading up to the final move but so far we're managing everything well and running just a tad longer than our normal 2 week turnaround.

Last weekend was so exciting. The feeling of owning something so significant as a house is super good. Thanks for all of the support you have shown us during this process!

Today we are adding a new design to our line. This is one many of you have been requesting for over a year and one I have been working on for at least as long. I like to take my time when working out new designs - to make sure proportions are right, durability is strong, versatility is present, styling is right - in short, I like to make great bags! Many of you had a sneak peek at this bag last week when we posted an image to our flickr page and your response was great - thanks!

Without further it is, The Letter Bag in Rosewood!

We are now officially home owners!  The keys were ours around noon yesterday and we went right to work.  We brought our tools with us on this first trip knowing we would not be able to wait to get that pink shag carpet and those drop ceilings out.  So many discoveries were made yesterday.  We took out all of the carpet on the first floor yesterday to reveal thin plank oak flooring.  We also uncovered two brick fireplaces and an arched doorway that had been covered up by a weird shoddy closet.  I have never renovated a house, but this demolition part of it is so fun!  Parker described it as the house holding a mystery we had to uncover.  This is fun.

*sorry for the lack of photos...i'm not so good a blogging while traveling*

Oh, happy!

On Wednesday morning we picked up a 26ft. moving truck and loaded it up with a lot of stuff from the studios.  Thursday morning we made the 12 hour drive from MA to Pittsburgh and unloaded everything into a storage unit.  Today at 11 we close on the house and get the keys.

I am so excited I want to share the happiness with you, too!  All day today, in honor of Obama's first time home buyer tax credit and to celebrate all of the exciting changes in our life I am offering 10% off everything in our shop!

This offer is only available at  Starting now and ending when I remember to deactivate the sale sometime late tonight....enter this code at checkout and it will be automatically adjusted on your invoice:  HAPPYMOOP

I love you guys!  Have a great weekend!

We just added The Letter Clutch in hemp denim and golden organic cotton to the shop/s. I have been in love with this denim for the last few months. I have experimented with it in just about all of the styles we make. It's too heavy for the Market Bag, too much denim for The Fraulein Tote but just right in every way for The Letter Clutch. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Pittsburgh or Bust!

It is with a sad heart (and a huge sigh of relief) that I must tell you all...we had to withdraw from the Bust Craftacular. There is just too much going on right now with running a business while planning a major relocation. All week I have been drafting explanations. They all would have unfairly transferred all of my stress and anxiety to you. So this is the best way I can sum it up.

Last week, while cooking dinner and crying into the tacos the conversation was: Pittsburgh or Bust?

This week, the conversation has become: Pittsburgh or bust!

A cart full of boxes

I just spent the last hour trying to write a post about my utility cart. Everything I wrote was boring. It is a cart. Today it was super full. I worked all weekend. That's it. People make fun of me when I stroll the halls with this cart, saying things like, "heeeyyy, nice shopping cart." I respond, under my breath, "Thanks. It's not a shopping cart."

On the more interesting front, we just did an interview with the lovely Emira from, The Boss of You. She and her coauthor write a blog as an extension of the is a great resource for those of you working to make a business out of something you love. It was great to talk with Emira, you can read it here.
