Bianchi

Our house is located less than 5 minutes from the studio. This morning, it took me 45 minutes to get from point A (house) to point B (studio). At least three to four mornings a week it takes me 45 minutes to an hour to get to the studio. I.hate.it.

The bike I currently have is a beautiful 1978 Raleigh road bike. The thin tires are not so good for riding the brick streets of Pittsburgh, though (and the gears need some serious TLC). So... I want a new bike. Specifically, this Bianchi Milano series bike. If I rode to work, it would likely take me not much more than 10 minutes. Ten refreshing traffic free minutes.

  1. That bike looks beautiful. A bike ride to work is always nice.

  2. I love the Milano! It's so classy. I take turns using my Surly Long Haul Trucker or my Brompton Foldie to get me to work. 20 of the best minutes in my day. =)

  3. I've ALWAYS wanted this bike, but since I'm so petite, it's always been too large for me. You need to have a basket!

  4. Yes yes yes. Bicycling through traffic is one of the most satisfying commutes imaginable--especially here in LA! And of course, the Bianchi is beautiful and practical bike choice.

I take it your long commute today was in your car?

  9. I was just looking at Bianchi too, for a cyclocross bike to ride in PA during winters. I have a road/racing bike, but would probably kill myself during the colder months on those skinny tires. That bike is very cool though...hmmm.

  10. I have an Electra Townie Euro. It's AMAZING! It's 24 speeds, super stylish and has lots of room for baskets and such.
