While sewing through daily orders, I have managed to sneak in a new bag or two. It has taken me almost 2 months to get fabrics ordered and finalized, samples made, photos taken and finally uploaded to the website/s...but, The Messenger Collection has just been added to. In addition to the Gunmetal Gray, it is now available in Tan, Tan and Hunter (as in someone who seeks). Find them in the shop, now!

While Jeremy was in Chicago he stopped by Reckless Records and gave our music collection the refresh it needed. I have been listening to Soy Un Caballo's album, les heures de raison, everynight while cooking dinner.
And, for all of the Lullatone fans out there, the new album, The Bedtime Beat is fantastic!

Hello Chicago! Go to Heaven Gallery tomorrow night, Friday the 13th, for the opening of Psst-Shhh. A show curated by Tim Kinsella with works by a host of super talented artists, included among them, Jeremy Boyle.
Jeremy left this morning to begin installing one of his wall drawings. He engineered a huge spirograph - 6ft in diameter - with multiple gears. It's an amazing feat to see him doing the drawing, it requires three people, is site specific and incredible.
I'm completely bummed that I cannot be there. The Daily Candy feature has been so so good to us - so good, that I cannot be gone from my sewing machine for longer than a few hours and I had to turn down Jeremy's invite for me to go with him. If you live in Chicago, you should go, there will be two bands performing during the opening...have fun for me!

I have finally uploaded a tour of the new studio to my flickr page. We've been through a fair amount of internet wrangling and finagling over the last few weeks, with many slow connections, not enough patience and lots of cursing (as kids, my mom used to fine my siblings and i a quarter for every "bad" word we said - i would owe her a lot of quarters right now). I annotated just about every photo..so you can virtually walk through my work space. I also put in a few photos of our new apartment. We are still mostly in boxes, so there will be more to come...but, for now ONWARD TO THE STUDIO, MATIES!

The Duffel in Brushed Brown is back! The move uncovered some fabric I thought was long gone. This bolt, though, is the last - for real. It's a vintage brushed brown canvas that is so fabulous I wish I owned a mill so I could produce only this in every color in my palette. I'm going to try and get a few Messengers out of it as well...I'll let you know how it goes. You can find The Duffel here.
Oh! I added a new option, too! Now you can order the Duffel in a standard length strap or an extra long strap, which is about the same length as The Messenger strap. I know some of you out there will appreciate this new addition, eh?!
I do wish I owned a mill.
Have you seen these Bun Bowls from Etcetera Media? They're made from thick wool felt and they're fabulous. A friend of mine bought one while at Modern Mart in December and I've been wanting one ever since....so, this morning, when I was supposed to be sewing, I ordered one in charcoal. This will be perfect to catch all the stuff that collects on my counters.
now back to work!
