We are here!

Our new life lives on a beautiful tree lined street

We arrived on Tuesday night, unloaded the truck and starting trying to make sense of the chaos. It has been a week of such strenuous physical exertion but our excitement for this new stage of our life has kept everything in perspective. We completely love it here! Every night we have been able to sit down for dinner at Jeremy's parents house, enjoy the back porch, meet our new neighbors and neighborhoods...we have spent more time outside in the last 5 days than our whole three years in Massachusetts and it feels so good!

The storefront space..in progress

We have been working on setting up the new studio (and soon to be retail shop). It is coming together nicely and we feel like we should have the studio up and running by Monday. We feel really good that we are still on track with our standard 2 week turnaround on all orders (if that changes, we'll let you know). It's exciting to start thinking about our studio as a more public space. We have started brainstorming ideas for window displays, new products for the shop and events we would like to hold in the space. There is a courtyard area in the back of the storefront space and with a little greening up it could be the perfect spot for Moop garden parties - you're all invited!

Macarons from Pistacia Vera

Also, Jamie & Cormac are so lovely and thoughtful, they sent us macarons for our arrival in Pittsburgh! They came from the shop of Pistacia Vera in Columbus, Ohio and they were amazing! Thanks guys!

Tonight is our wedding anniversary and we have a lot to celebrate! We feel so grateful for the help and support that has been shown to us by so many people who have made our life, our business and our happiness abundant. Thanks so much!

Wrapping Up

This is it! Yesterday was our last day of production in the studio. We shipped out almost 45 orders and started packing! We will pick up the truck this morning, spend today and tomorrow loading up and head on our way. The last two weeks have been an exhausting amount of work but have meant we will be able to make a smooth transition. We will be back up and running by Tuesday in our new home in Pittsburgh!

We have made many wonderful friends in Massachusetts and look forward to a lifetime together. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement as we have built Moop into what it is today. We could not have done it without you!

So long Massachusetts! We will miss you!

p.s. the shop is still open and we are not anticipating any disruption to our shipping times...so, keep 'em coming!

In Stock!

We have been working major overtime to fill all the orders we can prior to moving and so far we are still maintaining our standard 2 week turnaround...and will be able to keep that all through the move - hooray! We have even been able to build up a small stock of a few styles so, if you've been on the fence about buying a Market Bag because you did not want to wait the 2 weeks we need to make it...now is your chance! We have a small number of adjustable strap Market Bags in gunmetal gray and rosewood that if ordered today will ship out by Friday.

ALSO! If you're looking for a great Father's Day gift our hip pouches are in stock and the perfect little gift for Dads both young and old...though, they must be ordered by today in order to arrive by Sunday.

Have a great day!

a recent obsession

I was supposed to celebrate a friends birthday tonight (a surprise party for her 30th!) but Jeremy is still in Pittsburgh and Parker was, unexpectedly, feeling sick so I stayed in. Happy Birthday, Cara! You are a gem and I am so glad we are friends!

And, what is the next best thing to a party? Macarons. Do you know about these two ladies, Tartelette and Cannelle et Vanille? I want to come home one day to have these and these waiting for me....do you think that could happen? *sigh* maybe in Pittsburgh...I think things like that happen in Pittsburgh...I can't wait to find out...only 10 more days!

back and forth

I just returned from 4 days in Pittsburgh for the finest wedding I have ever attended. Jeremy's sister hitched up with a fabulous boy from Detroit and together they threw the best wedding bash I will ever be a part of! It was beautiful and fun and everything a wedding should be. Congratulations Jamie and Cormac!

So, I apologize for the lag in email response (and blog updates). Not only was I busy with wedding events, we stayed in our new house which does not yet have internet. It does not have a lot of anything. It has a working bathroom. Jeremy has been there for the last week working on the demolition..gutting everything. When someone at the wedding asked me if the house was livable, Jeremy's dad guffawed and said, "It WAS livable until Jeremy got a hold of it!" It's true. We will be moving into a shell. But, anyone who knows Jeremy, knows it will not be that way for long.

Great news on the Moop front! We finally have a space to move the business to--whew! It is a beautiful store front in a great part of Pittsburgh. Jeremy has stayed an extra week to get the space ready for us (while I am in MA sewing he will be in Pgh replacing the floor...water damage left a hill in the middle of the floor...). But, we got a great deal and it means we will have minimal down time from production. Also exciting is the addition of a Moop retail store! It will not happen right away as we need to get our footing in our new city, but we're looking forward to having our studio open to the public and becoming a part of the Pittsburgh community. Exciting times ahead!

The move is very very near, just 14 days away and the anticipation is killing me!

New bags, new colors

I spent the weekend photographing the new bags. The Letter Bag in gunmetal gray is now available in the shop. As is The Duffel in black. I carried my Letter Bag all last week and through the weekend. It has become my new summer bag. It is just big enough to fit a baby elephant without looking like I am carrying a baby elephant. And the styling is perfect for everything I wear. I hope you find the same to be true for you! This is a tiny detail, but I also just started using a new style of trigger snap on the inside - it makes clipping keys inside your bag a one handed affair. Especially helpful for those times when you are running to the softball field behind your daughter who is yelling, "I'm late, Mom! Hurry up!" aaahhh. good times.
