Better-Maid Donuts

There is a donut shop on my way to the studio that has been in operation for many many years.  Jeremy remembers going there as a kid (it's been there since long before him) and told me about it for years before I finally had the opportunity to go there.  I stopped on my way in this morning to get a Friday treat for everyone at the studio.  I arrived at just a few minutes before 8am and they were down to their last dozen donuts (of which, I took half), the guy that walked in after me took the rest and they closed up for the day.  In just under 2 hours they went through 70 dozen donuts. 70 dozen! That is a lot of delicious donuts going out into the Pittsburgh world.  It was a great way to start my day - I had a perfect pumpkin donut to dunk in my coffee as I answered morning emails.  If you're in Elliott, look for the little pink building with the best hand-painted sign and an open sign that will only be on between 6am and 8am Tuesday-Saturday.  They're only open until they sell out...and sell out they do!

Those look good. I love local places like that. There's a donut shop where I live that sells out like that, it's crazy (and happy).
