unity through dance

I had not heard of this Dancing Matt project but, thank you facebook for showing me something so touching and positive on this Friday.  It's the perfect capstone to my week off from the studio.  We've been all over the mid-west over the course of the last week and I've had such fun spending this time with my little family whom I love so dearly.  If only we had danced our way through Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania!  Anyhow...get yer tissues, watch this in full screen and gather everyone around you...'cause if you're anything like me, you'll be side swiped by the emotion of this incredibly uniting video.

p.s. here was my path to this great project: my facebook timeline...which led me here....then here.

The enchanted forest

Last Friday we played hooky from work and went on an adventure.  In the process we discovered my new most favorite place. We traveled a few hours north to The Cook Forest - an old growth hemlock forest in north western Pennsylvania.  The trail we hiked was full of moss, boulders and giant rhododendron.  We hiked down the mountain to the Clarion river.  We got our feet wet in the crisp cold water, climbed on the river rocks and searched for turtles....we didn't see any.  But, we did see a coyote.  He was sneaking up on us.  We scared him away and then we skedaddled back up the mountain.  The whole way back up I ran through all the ways I would have defended us against a coyote.  Coyote's aside, the whole adventure was super fun.  And entirely enchanting.  and a teensy bit terrifying. I'm pretty sure coyotes will eat you.

p.s. Parker is wearing Messenger no.4. We designed it for ipads, but it makes a great small everyday bag, too..it's compact and rugged.

a few photos of a few new things:

Did you all see this last week?  We now have Messenger no.3 and The Letter Bag in black waxed canvas!

We've given Messenger no.1 a little face lift and it is now available in two shades of gray (our most favorite combination).  We also tweaked the dimensions of the top flap a bit - it's a bit wider now to cover the small gap between the edge of the top flap and the base of the shoulder strap...I know many of you will be happy about this.

Our new studio kitchen is in progress!  Very much looking forward to Friday's at Five cocktail parties!! (hope you can make it ;)

Skateboarding

This makes me very excited for the skate board ramp that is *about* to be built in the studio (after the kitchen in finished).

And this reminds me that we may need to stock up on band-aids.

By Adam Shomsky and seen all over the internet this week.
